Become a Mentor to Entrepreneurs
RISE Collaborative is looking for mentors from all backgrounds, industries, and areas of expertise. As a Mentor with RISE Collaborative, you will be invited to interact with entrepreneurs in our regional ecosystem in several ways. Opportunities include:
One-on-one mentorship with members of our Business Bootcamp
Group mentoring in our virtual Mentor Swarms (coming soon!)
Guest Speakers for Business Bootcamp and for middle/high school and student programs
Panelists for special events
- Judges for business plan competitions* including RISE Collegiate Business Plan Competition and the RISE Southern Virginia Business Plan Competition
Or to be called on as subject matter experts

If you are passionate about providing support to entrepreneurs who are starting or growing their businesses, apply to become a mentor today.
*As a judge for a business pitch competition, your time commitment is 15-20 hours over a 2 to 3 week period, including business plan review, judging at the pitch event, and a debrief session. Upcoming competitions include the RISE Collegiate Business Plan Competition (March 23, 2023 at Hampden-Sydney College in Farmville, VA) and the RISE Southern Virginia Business Plan Competition (March 28, 2023 at SVHEC in South Boston, VA).
