RISE Collaborative is a regional initiative (not an entity or organization), hosted by the SOVA Innovation Hub in collaboration with partner organizations, and managed by the regional RISE Collaborative Leadership Team.

RISE Collaborative serves 15 localities in Southern Virginia, which comprise GO Virginia Region 3. These localities include the Counties of Amelia, Brunswick, Buckingham, Charlotte, Cumberland, Halifax, Henry, Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, Nottoway, Patrick, Pittsylvania, Prince Edward, and the Cities of Danville and Martinsville.

RISE Program Manager

This full-time position will contribute to the overall growth and sustainability of the RISE Collaborative regional entrepreneurship and innovation initiative, as a member of the RISE Collaborative Leadership Team. This position will be based at the SOVA Innovation Hub in South Boston, Virginia and will require weekly travel within the RISE region. The RISE Program Manager role will have a dual focus, 1) working directly with entrepreneurs to help them access capital for their businesses and 2) coordinating with the RISE Navigators to ensure impact across the region.  This is a grant-funded position for up to 24 months. This job opportunity is through Community Investment Collaborative (CIC). 

RISE Community Business Navigator – Eastern and Central Regions

This part-time, contract position will identify and serve startup and existing businesses to fulfill the goals fo the RISE Navigator Program. This position will be based at the SOVA Innovation Hub in South Boston, Virginia and will require regular travel within the assigned localities within RISE region. This position will report to the RISE Program Manager. This is a grant-funded position for up to 24 months.

RISE Entrepreneurship Education Coordinator

This position will be based at the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center (SVHEC) in South Boston, Virginia and will require some travel within the RISE project region.  This position will lead the delivery of entrepreneurship education programs for high school students and workforce program participants at SVHEC for RISE.  This is a grant-funded position, intended to support two academic years: Fall 2024 to Spring 2025 and Fall 2025 to Spring 2026. This job opportunity will be through the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center. 

RISE Community Business Navigator – Western Region

This position will identify and serve startup and existing businesses to fulfill the goals fo the RISE Navigator Program. This position will be based at the Thomas P. Dalton IDEA Center in Martinsville, Virginia. This position will join the existing team who lead entrepreneurship support programs in Martinsville and Henry County. This position will be part of the regional RISE Navigator Program Team. This is a grant funded position for up to 24 months. This job opportunity is through Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC).
