On Thursday, March 23, from 3-6 p.m. in Crawley Forum, Hampden-Sydney College will host the RISE Collegiate Business Plan Competition (CBPC). The event is open to the media and will provide opportunities for photos, video and interviews with participants and event organizers.

Organized by RISE Collaborative, the event is designed for college students to gain real-world experience in entrepreneurship. Teams of students with diverse backgrounds, skills, interests and areas of study work together for six months (October through March) with support from entrepreneurship educators, resources and mentors. The teams that have progressed to the final round of the competition will pitch their business plan to a panel of judges at the Collegiate Business Plan Competition’s culminating pitch event on March 23.

This year’s event will include students from Averett University, Hampden-Sydney College, Longwood University, and Patrick & Henry Community College.
