Thanks to funding from the SOVA Innovation Hub and GO Virginia Region 3, the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center (SVHEC) Career Tech Academy (CTA) now offers a Work-Based Learning (WBL) track focused on entrepreneurship.

Students in this track receive instruction on the foundations of starting a business, and will be matched with a small business owner for a work-based learning experience. The entrepreneurial track is ideal for students who may want to start or run a business; however, students of all interests will benefit from instruction that develops the entrepreneurial mindset which includes critical thinking, adaptation, flexibility, and resiliency.

Entrepreneurs and small business owners in Charlotte, Halifax, or Mecklenburg Counties are invited to play an active role in the WBL-Entrepreneurship program by serving as a guest speaker or mentor, or by providing students with job shadowing opportunities? If you’re ready to help grow the next generation of entrepreneurs please complete a short interest form.

Are YOU a 12th grade student interested in participating in the 2024-2025 Entrepreneurship Track?
