Michael Scales is a Business Analyst for the Longwood Small Business Development Center. The Martinsville native owned and operated a family construction business for over 30 years, after earning his business degree from the University of Virginia.

Known for his financial management skills, Scales is based in the Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) Dalton IDEA Center located at 26 Fayette Street, Uptown Martinsville. His primary service area for the Longwood Small Business Development Center includes the Patrick County, Henry County, and the City of Martinsville, and he regularly leads LSBDC trainings as part of the regional team of LSBDC consultants serving Southern Virginia. Scales is also a math instructor at Patrick & Henry Community College.
