SWaM stands for Small, Women, and Minority. This event is open to all small, women and/or minority owned businesses. The mission of event is to focus on minority and women owned businesses.

Discover procurement opportunities to diversify and grow your business. Bring your business cards, flyers, and any other information that describes your product or service. State, local, and private sector representatives will be on-site to discuss how to do business with their agencies. Lunch is provided.

Please register by April 12, 2022.

Buyers = Procurement for state agencies and private industry

Government and private sector procurement agencies will have the opportunity to table (1 table each) at the event and share detailed information about their current and future contracts with eligible Minority/Women-owned Business Enterprises (MWBE). Complimentary lunch will be included for all buyers and procurement professionals.

The last day registrations can be accepted is Tuesday, April 12, 2022. Register early to confirm your spot.

Swimming through the SWaM Certification Process

Did you know that state agencies are encouraged to use SWaM certified firms rather than non-certified firms?

The Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity, Southern Virginia Higher Education Center, and Longwood Small Business Development Center are offering this workshop to get you the information you need to become SWaM certified. The workshop is free, but registration is required.
