<p><span>For more than 40 years, Stanley Jeffress led </span><span><strong>Jeffress Funeral Home</strong></span><span>, building a legacy of service and dedication to Halifax County. A graduate of </span><span><strong>VCU with a Bachelor&#8217;s in Business (1975)</strong></span><span> and </span><span><strong>John Tyler Community College with an Associate’s in Funeral Service &amp; Mortuary Science</strong></span><span>, Jeffress combined his business acumen with deep compassion for the families he served.</span></p>
<p><span>Recognized as the </span><span><strong>2022-23 Business Person of the Year</strong></span><span> by the </span><span><strong>Halifax County Chamber of Commerce</strong></span><span>, Jeffress has been a champion for the community. </span><span><strong>Jeff Francisco</strong></span><span>, in presenting the award, noted, </span><span><em>“This individual has owned Jeffress Funeral Home for the last 43 years. He’s a true cheerleader for Halifax County, always willing to step up and do what it takes to make Halifax County a better place to work, live, and raise a family.”</em></span></p>
<p data-pm-slice="1 1 &#091;&#093;"><span>Jeffress owned </span><span><strong>Jeffress Funeral Home</strong></span><span> alongside his wife, </span><span><strong>Wanda Bostick Jeffress</strong></span><span>, who passed away in 2018. She served as </span><span><strong>vice-president and co-owner</strong></span><span> of the funeral home and was also an </span><span><strong>associate broker/agent with Realty Resource, Inc.</strong></span><span> Her contributions were invaluable in growing and sustaining the family business, ensuring it remained a trusted institution in the community.</span></p>
<p><span>Beyond his business, Mr. Jeffress has made an impact by serving on the </span><span><strong>Community Strategic Plan Implementation Committee</strong></span><span>, the </span><span><strong>Southern Virginia Higher Education Center Board of Trustees</strong></span><span>, and as a past </span><span><strong>chair of the Halifax County Chamber of Commerce (2012-2013)</strong></span><span>. His investments in </span><span><strong>downtown South Boston</strong></span><span> and membership in the </span><span><strong>South Boston Rotary Club</strong></span><span> reflect his commitment to the region.</span></p></div>
