We’re proud to welcome Dana Acree-Davis to the RISE team as the newest RISE Business Navigator!
Dana will serve entrepreneurs across Southern Virginia with a special focus on supporting founders in traded-sector industries like manufacturing and technology.
The RISE Navigator program, launched in 2024, was designed to help entrepreneurs more easily access the capital, training, and connections they need to grow their businesses. Navigators provide 1:1 support, referrals, and strategic guidance—meeting entrepreneurs where they are and helping them map a path forward.
Dana brings over a decade of experience in banking, administration, and logistics, paired with a deep commitment to the region. As a former Business Banker at Wells Fargo and Truist, she helped entrepreneurs secure funding, build credit, and manage business operations. She’s also supported medical practices and family-run logistics operations, giving her a 360-degree view of the challenges and opportunities small businesses face in rural markets.
“I’ve seen firsthand how hard local business owners work and how confusing the resource landscape can be,” Dana shared. “I’m excited to serve as a guide and advocate, by connecting entrepreneurs to funding and the tools, people, and ideas that help them thrive long-term.”
Dana’s position is hosted by RISE Collaborative partner CIC, a Charlottesville-based CDFI with a growing footprint in Southern Virginia. CIC’s regional office, located at the SOVA Innovation Hub in South Boston, reflects a shared commitment to expanding access to entrepreneurial support in rural and underserved communities.
